Michele Simos, President
Director of Communications Programming

Michele SimosDedicated to helping clients reach their greatest potential as communicators, Michele loves being in the classroom teaching business writing, marketing communications and presentation skills as well as designing custom performance improvement programs.

As a certified business writing and presentations skills trainer—specializing in technical and sales audiences—Michele has developed high impact communications training programs for numerous organizations, including Turner Broadcasting Inc., EMC, Rohm & Haas and PerkinElmer.

Before founding SimosConsulting Inc., Michele served as manager of proposal development and marketing communications at Ernst & Young, Boston. She has also consulted for The Forum Corporation, an international training development company. At Forum, she worked with companies like Unilever and AXA to develop communications plans and marketing collateral to support the rollout of leadership training. Earlier in her career, she served as a radio news announcer and has a wealth of on-air radio broadcasting experience.

Michele holds an M.A. degree in Professional Writing and Publishing from Emerson College and an undergraduate degree in Journalism/Public Relations. Michele is the author of numerous articles and is in the process of writing a book on business communications. A frequent speaker on communications, Michele has served as guest speaker at Abbott Pharmaceuticals’ annual sales meeting, Tufts University and Boston Process Improvement Network. She is also an active volunteer for The Children’s Room, a support space for children and teenagers who are dealing with loss.

Darla Lipke
Director of Leadership Development Programming

Darla LipkeIn this strategic role, Darla advises organizations on how to develop and nurture high-performing teams. A certified Achieve-Global Trainer and Master Trainer for the National Center for Construction Education & Research, Darla specializes in creating and delivering innovative workshops that focus on leadership and teambuilding. She also has experience in mediation and negotiations, primarily based on the Harvard Negotiation Project.

Darla works for a variety of clients across several industries, including municipalities, banking, and oil and gas exploration. Work with these clients includes conducting needs assessments, designing and implementing flexible learning systems linked to business results and facilitating leadership initiatives.

During her career, Darla has developed and delivered leadership training for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Center for Management Development. At the FAA, she focused on organizational development and labor-management relations.

She earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Florida, where she currently serves as a regular speaker for the Rinker School of Building Construction. Speaking engagements include the American Association of Airport Executive’s Finance Managers’ Conference and the National Association of Women in Construction’s Regional Conference.
